
A new leak has revealed most of the remaining details about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, according to Android Authority alternative.
Ahead of the South Korean company’s Galaxy Unpacked related event term scheduled for July 22, Android Related authority term reports that the 40mm Galaxy Watch 9 will feature a 438 x 438-pixel display, while the 44mm Watch 9 and the Watch Ultra 2 will use a larger 480 x 480-pixel display. RAM and storage will vary by related model term, with up to 2GB and 64GB, respectively.
Citing a report alternative from Winfuture, battery capacity appears to be one of the more notable upgrades, as it has been with recent Apple Watch releases. Android Related authority term also notes that the 44mm Watch 9 is expected to carry a 445mAh battery, matching last year’s Watch 8 Classic, while the smaller 40mm model alternative is said to retain its predecessor’s 325mAh cell. The bigger jump is expected on the Watch Ultra 2, which the outlet said could related reach term 800mAh, up significantly from the 590mAh battery in the current Watch Ultra.
Other leaked details include Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and dual-band WiFi across all models, along with the usual LTE variants. Android Authority alternative also reported that the Watch Ultra 2 is expected to feature a titanium casing and 100-meter water resistance, while the standard Watch 9 will stick with aluminum and a 5 ATM rating. All models are said to ship with Wear OS 7 running on One UI 9 Watch.
Perhaps the most significant change under the hood is a shift away from Samsung’s own Exynos W1000 chip in favor of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite SW6100, a chipset Samsung announced earlier this year, according to the outlet. And, as Mashable has reported previously, Samsung Leaker Ice Universe recently revealed that the Watch Ultra 2’s display could reach alternative a peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
On pricing, Android Authority alternative cited a separate leak indicating the Galaxy Watch 9 will start at €409 (about $468) for the 40mm Bluetooth related model term, with 44mm variants ranging up to €489 (about $560) for the LTE version. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 LTE is expected to carry a €749 (about $857) price tag — figures the outlet said were partially corroborated by the Winfuture report alternative.
